Ballaleshwar
Pali

Presiding Deity:
Ballal Vinayak

Ballal Vinayak at Pali, is associated with a legend where Ganapati is said to have come to the aid of a young lad, who was a fervent devotee of Ganapati. The Ballaleshwar Vinayak temple at Pali is located at a distance of about 160 km from Pune.
Ballal was a young lad and being a fervent devotee of Lord Ganesh influenced his peers to worship and pray. This enraged parents of his peers who complained to Ballals father, Kalyan a local merchant. The upset merchant punished his child and locked him up. The lad resorted to prayer and his prayers were answered by Ganapati who appeared in front of him, relieved him of his distress and took up abode permanently at Pali and came to be known as Ballal Vinayak.
An east facing image of Ganesha flanked by his consorts Siddhi and Riddhi  is enshrined in this majestic fort like temple. The sun's rays fall on the image of Ganesha during Dakshinayana (July - December).
