The Uthrapasupatheeswarar Ganapatheeswarar Temple, located in the village of Tiruchenkattankudi in Tamil Nadu's Nagapattinam district, is a historically significant Chola-era temple. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple is particularly revered for its unique connections to Lord Ganesha and the Shaivite saint Siruthondar, also known as Paranjothi. 
Deities and Legend
The presiding deity is Lord Shiva, in his manifestation as Uthirapasupatheeswarar, with his consort Parvati known as Vaaitha Tirukuzhal Umai Nayaki. The temple is notable for its prominent shrine to Lord Ganesha, known as Ganapatheeswarar. According to legend, Ganesha came to this place to worship Shiva to atone for his sin of killing the demon Gajamukhasura, hence the name Ganapatheeswaram. The temple also houses a rare idol of Vatapi Ganapathi, which was brought back from the Chalukya capital of Vatapi by the Pallava commander Paranjothi (Siruthondar) after a victorious war.

This temple is a revered Paadal Petra Sthalam and holds immense significance for devotees seeking solutions to various life problems.
