The Bhaktha Anjaneyar Temple is a renowned Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman, located in Nanganallur, a suburb of Chennai, Tamil Nadu. 

Deities and legend

Main deity: The central deity is a magnificent 32-foot-tall idol of Lord Anjaneyar (Hanuman), carved from a single granite rock. The statue is in a humbleposture with folded hands, symbolizing Hanuman's unwavering devotion to Lord Rama.

Other shrines: The temple complex also includes shrines for Lord Rama (with Sita and Lakshmana) and Lord Krishna (with Rukmini and Satyabhama), highlighting Hanuman's presence in both the Ramayana and Mahabharata. There are also shrines for Vinayaka and Saint Raghavendra.

Legend: The statue's installation in 1989 and consecration in 1995 were overseen by Sri Chandrashekarendra Saraswati Mahaswamiji of the Kanchi Mutt.

Legend holds that the construction of the monolithic idol and the temple's establishment were guided by divine will and the unwavering faith of its founders.

The temple holds immense significance for devotees seeking strength, courage, and protection. Worshipping Lord Hanuman is believed to provide relief from obstacles and negative influences. Devotees visit the temple and offer prayers to seek remedies for various issues: 
 

Courage and strength: Worshippers pray for mental and physical fortitude to face life's challenges.

Removal of obstacles: Lord Hanuman is known as "Sankat Mochan," the remover of troubles, and is worshipped to resolve complex problems in personal and professional life.

Planetary effects: Prayers are offered to mitigate the malefic effects of planetary transits, especially those of Saturn (Shani).

Health and wellness: Devotees pray for relief from diseases and to improve overall health.

Blessings and success: Offerings of garlands, betel leaves, and vadais are made to seek blessings for success and prosperity.
