Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, is a significant Hindu festival celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm throughout India.The festival spans over ten days, with the installation of beautifully decorated Ganesha idols, daily prayers, chanting of Vedic hymns and mantras, and offerings of sweets like modak. Legend

According to Hindu mythology, Goddess Parvati, Lord Shiva's wife, created Ganesha from sandalwood paste and gave him life, appointing him as the guard of her chambers. When Lord Shiva returned and attempted to enter, Ganesha, unaware of his identity, blocked his path. Enraged, Shiva beheaded Ganesha. Upon witnessing Parvati's grief, Shiva promised to bring him back to life, replacing Ganesha's head with that of an elephant. This event, symbolic of Ganesha's birth with an elephant head, marks him as the remover of obstacles and the lord of new beginnings, according to Reias India.
