About Our Service Introduction to Homas
Homams are pujas performed for a particular deity by invoking Agni - the God of fire. It is said that when Lord Brahma (the creator among the Trinity) created man, he also created "Homam" for man's livelihood and his attainment of spiritual desires. The fundamental premise of Homam is derived from the Vedams. (according to "Purusha Sooktham" it is the other way around - Vedams originated from Homam). Vedams and Homam are eternal truths having neither beginning nor end, and are "Apourusheyam" (divine, not the creation of humans). Karmam (work or action) is an integral part of living. Right and wrong Karmams can hardly be discerned by human intellect, and has to be guided by knowledge. Vedams, indeed, contain the highest form of knowledge. The singular goal of Vedam is to guide man through the correct path. And Homam forms the essence of all the Karmams prescribed in the Vedams. The goal of all Homams is the prosperity of the people at large by energizing and protecting the environment. The Sun is considered as the main source of energy supply, and fire is considered as a representation of the Sun's energy. According to the ancient texts on Homam, any offer to Fire as a god, is actually an offer to Sun. Any such offer is either to enrich energy in the environment or to destroy the undesirable elements in the environment, and thus, in both ways, environment is protected. Attaching divine nature to such rituals (like Homam) induced people to practice them. Thus, the ancient texts proclaim that "Such Vaidika Karmams are result-oriented, and meant to lead to Sreyass or spiritual attainments".

What do I get when I order?
Participants will typically receive the following:
1. Burnt offerings from your homa (Rakshai)
2. The blessed yantra associated with the homa.
3. If you have chosen the VCD option, you will also receive the VCD of the ceremony.

Homam Offerings - Kumkum, Vibuthi, Rakshai and Darba Rakshai
These are enclosed in 4 zip lock covers and are marked. These (a pinch of it) can be worn on the forehead everyday after worship. They can be stored in small boxes or covers and placed before the picture of the deity you worship on in the puja room.

Note:
Kumkum - vermillion (red colored powder)
Vibuthi - sacred ash (greyish white colored powder)
Rakshai  - ash from the havan or fire (black powder)
Darba Rakshai - ash of the darba grass used in the homam
The above listed offerings vary with each homam

Yantra
This word in its most general sense means an instrument, or that by which anything is accomplished. In worship it is that by which the mind is fixed on its object. This yantra is a diagram engraved or drawn on metal, paper, or other substances, which is worshipped in the same manner as an image (pratima). As different mantra are prescribed for different worships, so are different yantra. The yantras are therefore of various designs, according to the object of worship. This can be placed in your puja room or hung on a wall.

When Will My Order Arrive?
Already placed an order? You can find out when it will be delivered by tracking your orders online. To calculate when you will receive an item, you need to consider the availability of the items you are ordering as well as the shipping option you select. Here's the equation we use:

Longest Item Availability + Shipping Time = Total Delivery Time

For example, a few items on the site show 24-hour availability. If you select Standard Shipping for U.S. shipments, your shipping time will be 7 to 10 business days, depending on the type of shipping that you choose. This means your total delivery time will be 1 day (availability) + 7 to 10 days (shipping time). So you can expect to receive this item 8 to 12 days after you place your order.

What if my order includes several items with different availabilities?
You should use the longest availability time in your order. That's because, multiple-item orders are held for shipment until all items are available. (For instance, if you order three items, and two have an availability of 24 hours while one has an availability of 2 to 3 days, your order will ship in 2 to 3 days.)
